First Baptist Church Valley Mills seeks to call a full-time pastor to lead and work alongside the congregation in reaching the community with the gospel.

FBCVM exists to support public worship, proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and pursue the mission proclaimed by Christ to care for the world God created and the persons and creatures that inhabit it. A committee-led structure allows the pastor to focus on shepherding the congregation while encouraging members to take part in overseeing ministries and church operations. As a de facto member of each committee, the pastor has the ability to be involved as much or as little as desired in each committee, at any time.

FBCVM has a strong youth ministry and a robust Wednesday after school program for elementary age children.  The church is dedicated to community ministry through a benevolence program and assisting the local food pantry.  A desire of the church is to see these ministries continue to thrive while also being used as an avenue to minister to families as a whole in the community.

Church staff consists of a Music Minister, Youth Minister and Church Administrator.  FBCVM has a long history of preparing young Baylor and Truett Seminary students for a life of ministry by employing them as part-time youth and music ministers.

FBCVM worship services are blended in nature incorporating hymns, anthems and contemporary songs. Lay leadership, of all ages, is active in scripture readings, prayers, children’s sermons and other aspects of worship.  Services are shared on Facebook with a welcoming online community for those who cannot attend in person.

FBCVM is a financially healthy church with an operating budget of $245,000 and no outstanding debt. The campus includes a main church building, family life center and playground.  FBCVM provides a parsonage for the pastor and family located two blocks from the church.

Valley Mills is a quaint family friendly town nestled in the hills of Bosque County, 20 minutes outside of Waco.  This welcoming community has a strong school district steeped in academic and extracurricular success.  Both the elementary and high school are recent National Blue Ribbon recipients.
